Shanghai United Pharmatech Co., Ltd (¡°UP¡±) was founded in 2004, located in Shanghai Pudong High Tech Park. UP is one of the leading integrated chemistry service organizations in China to provide services to global pharmaceutical and biotech companies, especially in chiral technology (chemical resolution, enzymatic resolution, asymmetric synthesis). These services include medicinal chemistry, library and custom synthesis, process research and development, scale up production and commercial manufacture (Non-GMP & FDA GMP).  UP is seeking candidates for several VP positions possibly as co-founders to re-organize the company and to support its rapid growth.

Position: VP of Medicinal Chemistry

Job Description: (1) Build up and lead a strong team to conduct chemical synthesis in compound libraries, reference standards, natural products, impurities and other biologically interesting compound for pharmaceutical and biotech companies; (2) Design and optimize novel compounds and/or compound libraries, in collaboration with scientists from biochemistry, cell biology and pharmacology; (3) Build up and maintain good relationships with the scientific community and partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Position Requirements:

l         Ph.D. in chemistry or medicinal chemistry with 5-10 years industry experience in US pharmaceutical companies or biotech companies

l         With more than 5 years of management experience, including hiring managers, scientists and other staffs, managing people, projects and budgets; and writing reports, SOPs and implementation documents

l         Being able to design, develop and implement programs in partnership with senior management and clients;  

l         Proven track record of accomplishments with patents and publications

l         Excellent communication skills with personal integrity.

Position: VP of Process Chemistry

Job Description: (1) Design and build up an infrastructure to conduct chemical process research and development. (2) Expand and lead an existing team of chemists to design, improve and scale up new synthetic routes for target compounds (3) Develop chemical processes to make early stage and late stag drug substances for preclinical and clinical studies under cGMP; (4) Supervise intermediates and API production at contract manufacturing organizations; (5) Write regulatory documents such as GMP batch record, CMC, DMF; (6) Build up good relationships with the scientific community and partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Position Requirements:

l         Ph.D. in Organic chemistry with emphasis on synthesis; 0-4 years post doctoral experience and 5-10 years industrial experience in chemical development in US pharmaceutical and biotech companies

l         Comprehensive experience in designing efficient, cost effective and safe synthetic routes, conducting experiments, optimizing reaction conditions, identifying physical property and scaling up in kilo lab and pilot plant

l         Strong problem solving in work up, distillation, isolation and purification as well as identifications of impurities in synthesis of intermediates and drug substances.

l         Experience in technology transfer from bench to pilot plant and manufacture site under cGMP. .

l         Strong technical report writing for regulatory filing.

Position: VP of Analytical Development

Job Description: (1) Build up a modern infrastructure and lead a QA and QC team, (2) Write regulatory documents for filing, issue COA for final products and create related SOPs for QA and QC; (3) Manage the analytical supports for all discovery, development and regulatory projects; (4) Recruit, train and develop all analytical chemists to meet the GMP requirements. (5) Build up good relationships with the scientific community and partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Position Requirements:

l         Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with more than 5 years experience in identification of natural products, methodology development/validation, chiral and preparative separation in US pharmaceutical, chemical or biotech company

l         Hands-on experience and a good knowledge of HPLC, GC, LC/MS, GC/MS, NMR, DSC, X-Ray and TGA .

l         Experience in technology transfer, automation and high-throughput analysis.

l         Regulatory writing for filling under GMP condition.

Position: VP of Marketing

Job Description: (1) Build up and lead a marketing team in pharmaceutical outsourcing market; (2) Maintain existing clients and develop new clients in US, European and Japanese markets, (5) Attend conference and exhibition to build up good image and maintain good relationships with the scientific community and clients in pharmaceutical and biotech companies..

Position Requirements:

l         Ph.D/MS/MBA. in Organic Chemistry with more than 5 years marketing or related experience in US/European/Japanese pharmaceutical, chemical or biotech company

l         Proven track record of accomplishments with sales, patents and publications

l         Excellent communication, presentation, writing skills with personal integrity.
